The initial title of this work was "Beauty is back". A joke, because it was a long time since I painted a figurative subject.
Watercolor is the most difficult medium for figurative subjects because water don't help us, making everything more random. While someone is painting human figures, it is really important pay attention on the shapes, that must correspond perfectly to the anatomy, therefore those artists who perform with oil or acrylic have an advantage thanks to the easy control on the medium in comparison with watercolor technique.

The idea for a watercolor came from a pencil sketch.
The beach is the best place in order to enhance the skin colours and brightness. The surrender of the skin colour is always a challenge, it could be too heavy, or too pale. But if the style you want to give the painting is simple, then the colors become easy to be managed.
