It was the first time that I planned, designed and executed a series. Painting these watercolors was the way to find a perfect harmony between inspiration, freestyle and self-training.
I changed style in 2016 during the execution of these works and since then I kept the idea of being impressionist and search for new forms of style in my artistic research.
I landed for chance on a footage on video Youtube that left me stunned.
I admired the athletic performances of Laird Hamilton and other surf champions who managed to ride three meters high waves. The sacred temple of surfing, one of the many actually, is Teahupoo. Looking at Tim Mac Kenna 's photographer work I took inspiration to reproduce the colours, the back-light and the water effects that led me to elaborate the style of the whole series.
I produced a dozen of medium format watercolours and two large format watercolours in a couple of months.
